We as a whole have insane families, yet some are marginally more useless than others. What's more, when you're in general society eye, your family is by all accounts much more ludicrous. Here are the most dysfunctional popular families ever.
The Kardashians
How can we do a list of dysfunctional families without mentioning the
Kardashian? Kris Jenner was first married to Robert Kardashian, who is OJ Simpson's friend and defense attorney. While married, Chris often spent lots of money and reportedly had affairs. After Robert's death, Kris married Bruce, now Caitlyn Jenner. From short-lived marriages to constant bickering, the antics seen on their show, "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" can make anyone feel like their family is normal.
The Giudice family
Famous for the reality show, "The Real Housewives of New Jersey", Teresa and Joe Giudice are the epitome of dysfunction. Joe repeatedly cheats on his wife and Teresa seems just blatantly to ignore it. They don't get along with Teresa's brother, and they are neck-deep in legal trouble. Teresa was recently released from prison after serving 11 months for tax fraud while Joe has just begun his 36-month sentence.
Honey Boo-Boo's family
We all know about the little girl famously known as Honey Boo Boo and how she got her own reality show for being a country as can be. After her mother Mama June split from her father Sugar Bear, Jun got involved with her ex-boyfriend Mark McDaniel, who served ten years in prison for child molestation, and have previously molested June's eldest daughter, Anna. So why get back with a guy in the first place? Well, the romantic choice ended up being the downfall of the television show since TLC didn't approve of the relationship.
Woody Allen's family
Where to begin? Well, Mia Farrow was still in an intimate relationship with her first husband Frank Sinatra, when she got together with Woody Allen. While she was with Allen, Farrow adopted a daughter named Dylan, who Allen allegedly molested. Then Alan entered into a romantic relationship with Farrow's adopted daughter from a previous marriage. Feeling dysfunctional yet?
The Lohans
Lindsay Lohan first entered our lives when she was a child actress in the remake of "The Parent Trap." She then went on to appear in a few more movies as a child star, but as she got older, her life derailed. She was using drugs, getting multiple DUI's, being called unprofessional by Hollywood producers, and her personal life was headed in a downward spiral. Her father, Michael, was jailed for a DUI as well as fraud. Then her mother tried her own shot of fame with Lindsay's sister Ali Lohan, on the show called, "Living Lohan" that didn't last more than a few episodes.
The Jacksons
The Jacksons are one of the most famous families in the world after the success of the Jackson 5, and then the solo success of Michael and Janet. But the famed didn't come without a price. The family's patriarch, Joe Jackson was notoriously known for doing whatever it took to reach that fame. Michael and his siblings were reportedly abused, both physically and emotionally. Michael clearly had something taken away from him when he was younger, which resulted in his multiple plastic surgeries and feeling like a modern-day Peter Pan.
The Gosselin's
Known for their reality show "Jon & Kate Plus 8," it seemed that the Gosselin's were the perfect family with their multiple children, but as the season went on, it was clear that all wasn't well. After John was reportedly seen dating other women, a couple announced their split and Jon was kicked off the show. But Jon managed to get the show to cease production with the help of a judge, and both Jon and Kate were financially ruined with Jon taking jobs as a waiter and even a DJ. However, Kate stayed close to the spotlight exploiting her kids whenever possible to stay financially afloat.
The Phillips family
The Mamas and the Papas was one of the most well-known folk rock groups of the 60's. But band member John Phillips seem to have done more than just sing. According to his daughter Mackenzie Phillips' autobiography, John introduced her to drugs and the two had a sexual relationship that lasted for several years. Nothing says dysfunction quite like incest.
The Houston-Brown family
It now seems that the marriage of Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown was ill-fated as it tells the tragic story that ultimately resulted in the death of both Whitney and her daughter Bobbi. In the late 90's Whitney's career began to derail as she and Bobby started using drugs together, resulting in their domestic troubles regularly splashed all over the news. Houston was found dead in 2012, with the drugs in her system. Tragically, 22-year-old Bobbi Kristina was found unresponsive in a bathtub in 2015, the same way her mother had been found. Drug use is suspected to have played a part.
The Manson family
While they are not technically a family, they did form a support unit that took care of each other like a family. Headed by the infamously creepy Charles Manson, the Manson Family committed some of the most gruesome killings like the murder of actress Sharon Tate, who was brutally slain while she was pregnant with Roman Polanski's baby.
Members of the Manson Family have been serving their time in prison and getting denied parole on a regular basis.
